Lucentis approved for Patients with wet AMD in England

After lengthy campaigns and discussions, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has approved the prescribing of Lucentis (Ranibizumab) through the NHS for all suitable patients with wet macular degeneration who are resident in England. With Lucentis treatment costing up to £10,000 per eye, the cost of the drug beyond 14 injections will be met by the Manufacturer.
